A few moments in Red Hook & Germantown, New York

With the limited time I had I was able to enjoy a few local of time in between this event and that one, I decided to go off and and see the Hudson river and its beauty, and visit a few shops.
The original people of the New York area are the Iroquois, Cherokee, and Mound Builders. I drove down 9G to Germantown, I was only able to stop and see a few things but what I did experience was very special. This trip was bitter sweet as I was dropping my daughter off at college. While I was happy for her in her new adventure I was sad over losing our daily time together.
It was  long 4 days that went by too quickly. I cried myself to sleep in the evenings and enjoyed her company when I was with her during the day. It was difficult for both of us, neither one of us was quite our usual self. It was the last goodbye to the childhood and hands on mommy work. I loved those years and now they were officially over. Sat night I wailed in the darkness of my space in the AirBnB, listless I sat on the sofa and ate my dinner in the dark. Sunday morning I felt serene in acceptance of what was happening. I picked up my daughter from her dorm and she too felt better. We went to brunch at the magical Beekman Arms and enjoyed each others company for our remaining few hours.
